How To Stop Payday Loan Harassment By Payday Loan Companies

It's probably not one of the best things to do when you are having money problems, the payday loan, but if you have done it and find yourself in a mess with one of those payday loan companies, you may find out quick that they are not as friendly when they want their money back. The minute you can't pay this back they will waste no time in beginning the harassing calls. Here is some advice on what to do if you find yourself in this kind of a situation.

The first thing you should do without hesitation is to talk to the manager of the place and see if you can extend the terms of the loan. Usually these types of loans need to be paid back in two weeks. However, if you can't manage to do that then you may be lucky and the manager may be willing to extend the due date for you. You will pay an extra fee but it will be better than them calling you on the phone harassing you.

Another thing you could do, and you may not want to, but, borrow the money you owe from a close friend or relative. These types of loan companies are far more persistent than other companies. The best way you are going to be able to get them to leave you alone is to pay the loan off. Then when you get the money from your friend or relative get the payday loan paid off immediately. Also, don't take forever to pay your friend or relative off either.

Another thing that you can do is to send them a “Cease Calling” or “Stop Calling Me” letter. According to the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, all consumers do have the right to stop those harassing calls. This includes all creditors, even payday loan. By law, once they receive this letter they have to stop calling you. However, they still can contact you by mail. But that's better than those horrible phone calls.

You should also keep record of any phone calls that might be threatening. If they leave nasty and threatening messages on your answering machine or voicemail, don't delete them make sure to save them. You can use these against them if it ever goes to court.

Do your best to send them any amount of money in order to get the loan paid off. Remember these kinds of loans incur interest on a daily basis so do your best to get rid of this loan. If you pay something it will be better than paying nothing at all because it will buy you some time and will put a stop to the calls. They shouldn't call if you are at least sending in payments.
